Prof. Dr. Bársony István – MK, 2022. november 26.

Dr. Bársony István 1948. július 19-én született Nyíregyházán. A diplomáját 1971-ben szerezte meg villamosmérnökként. 1971-től 1992-ig a Híradástechnikai Ipari Kutató Intézet, majd jogutóda, a Mikroelektronikai Vállalat dolgozója volt a vállalat felszámolásáig. 1983 és 1993. között külföldön (Hollandiában) dolgozott és végzett kutatómunkát. 1993 óta előbb a KFKI Anyagtudományi Kutató Intézet, majd 1998-tól az MTA Műszaki Fizikai és Anyagtudományi Kutatóintézet tudományos tanácsadója.

1988-ban szerezte meg a műszaki tudomány kandidátusa fokozatot, majd ezt a BME Villamosmérnöki és Informatikai Kar  1994-ben PhD fokozatként ismerte el.

1993-tól az MTA-nál, a BME-n és a Pannon Egyetemen professzor és kutató. 2010-ben a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia levelező, 2016-ban a rendes tagja lett. Szakterülete a mikroelektronika, mikro- és nanotechnológia.

A Debreceni Egyetem Műszaki Kar jogelőd intézményénél elindult  fejlesztések eredményeként  a Debreceni Egyetem Műszaki Karán 2000/2001. tanévben létrehozott  önálló Villamosmérnöki Tanszék első vezetője lett, aki a villamosmérnök-szakindítás akkreditációját is szervezte és beindította a Műszaki Karon. 2003-ig a villamosmérnök képzés szakfelelőse volt a Debreceni Egyetemen.

Szakmai közéleti tevékenysége is jelentős. Számos Szakbizottság, Egyesület elnöke vagy tagja. Munkásságát számos nemzetközi és hazai díjjal és elismeréssel méltatták.

Dr. István Bársony was born on 19 July 1948 in Nyíregyháza. He graduated as an electrical engineer in 1971. From 1971 to 1992 he worked at the Research Institute of Telecommunication and its successor, the Microelectronic Company, until the liquidation of the company. Between 1983 and 1993 he worked and did research abroad (in the Netherlands). Since 1993 he has been a scientific advisor at the KFKI Research Institute of Materials Science, and since 1998 at the Institute of Engineering Physics and Materials Science of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

In 1988, he obtained the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences, which was later recognized as a PhD degree by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) in 1994.

Since 1993, he has been a professor and researcher at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), and the University of Pannonia. In 2010 he became a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in 2016 a full member. His specialisation is microelectronics, micro- and nanotechnology.

As a result of the developments started at the predecessor institution of the University of Debrecen Faculty of Engineering, he became the first head of the independent Department of Electrical Engineering established at the University of Debrecen Faculty of Engineering in the academic year 2000/2001, organising and initiating the accreditation of the electrical engineering degree programme at the Faculty of Engineering. Until 2003, he was in charge of the electrical engineering degree programme at the University of Debrecen.

His professional public activity is also significant. He is chairman or member of several committees and associations. His work has been honoured with numerous international and national awards and recognitions.

Dr. Derek Clemets-Croome (GB) - MK, 2013. november 30. 

Professor Derek Clements-Croome was born in Northumberland in 1939. He obtained an MSc degree in vibrational physics at London University in 1966. His PhD was awarded in building environmental engineering at Loughborough University in 1978. He was appointed Professor of Construction Engineering, School of Construction Management & Engineering, University of Reading (1988-2008) and was Director of Research (2002-2007). Since 2008 he is Emeritus Professor in Architectural Engineering at the University of Reading. He was member of Technical Planning Committee for Ministry of Construction in Beijing (2003- 2006) and member of Strategy Review Board on Science and Technology for the Taiwan Government (2005- 2006). He is editor and founder of Intelligent Buildings International Journal, furthermore associated editor of International Review of Applied Sciences and Engineering journal, founded by University of Debrecen. He led about 40 research projects and he is author of more than 200 scientific papers published in international journals and conferences. He is a team member for the “Sustainable energy systems by optimal integration of renewable energy sources” project led by University of Debrecen. Professor Derek Clements-Croome contributes to a considerable extent to the international recognition of University of Debrecen and gets Hungarian researchers involved in international projects and gives an experienced hand to the development of international relations.

Derek Clements Croome professzor 1939. május 5-én született Nortumberlandban, 1966-ban szerzett MSc oklevelet Rezgésfizika szakon a Londoni Egyetemen, majd 1978-ban PhD fokozatot szerzett a Loughborough Egyetemen „Épített környezet” tudományterületen. 1988-2008 között egyetemi tanárként dolgozott a Reading Egyetem Építőmérnöki és Épületmenedzsment Tanszékén. 2002-2007 között ugyanezen az Egyetemen kutatási igazgatói feladatokat is ellátta. 2008-tól a Reading Egyetem professzor emeritusa. Taiwan és Kína kormányaiban az építésügyi tudományos és stratégiai területeken minisztériumi tanácsadóként dolgozott. Az Intelligent Buildings International Journal alapítója és főszerkesztője, társszerkesztője a Debreceni Egyetem által alapított „International Review of Applied Sciences and Engineering” tudományos folyóiratnak. Számos meghatározó, több nyelvre lefordított, szakkönyv szerzője. Több mint 200 tudományos cikk szerzője, melyek nemzetközi konferenciák kiadványaiban és referált folyóiratokban jelentek meg. Kutatóként részt vesz a Debreceni Egyetem által vezetett „Fenntartható energetika megújuló energiaforrások optimalizált integrálásával” c. projekt megvalósításában. Derek Croome professzor jelentősen hozzájárult a Debreceni Egyetem nemzetközi elismertségének növeléséhez és az egyetemünkön folyó kutatási munka eredményességéhez.

Dr. Guðni Albert Jóhannesson (IS) – MK, 2008. november 29. 

Guðni Albert Jóhannesson was born in Iceland 1951. He obtained an MSc degree in Engineering Physics in 1976 and a PhD in Building Technology in 1981 at the University of Lund, Sweden. In 1990 he was appointed as a professor in Building Technology and Energy Conservation at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, which is one of the biggest Technical Universities of Scandinavia. He was appointed as vice dean, member of the Faculty Board, deputy head of the Department for Building Sciences. Since 1st January 2008 he has been Director General for the National Energy Authority in Iceland.

He developed the “Symphony” concept for cost effective high rise buildings, full scale experimental building stage. He has three international patents in Building Technology. He was leader or member of different international research teams for EU or IEA projects.
Professor Guðni Albert Jóhannesson contributes to a considerable extent to the international recognition of University of Debrecen and gets Hungarian researchers involved in international projects and gives a helping hand to the development of international relations.
